Types of Services
Supplemental Staffing
For a day, a week, or for longer periods of time. Whether it is due to staffing shortages, vacation, sick/maternity leave or any other urgent needs.
Temp-to-Hire
A great way to evaluate prospective caregivers. They work 500 hours on our payroll during a probationary period before you make the commitment to hire them. After that time, you may hire them free and clear for your payroll and benefits. If you decide you want the candidate before the 500 hours, a buyout figure can be arranged.
Permanent Placement
We search for the best possible candidate for your facility. We handle the advertising, interviewing, screening and reference checks. Then we will send you the candidate to interview. If the candidate joins your facility, your facility will be charged a reasonable finders fee.
Payroll Transfer
You send the employee to us - perhaps someone you know but are unsure if they will work out within your facility. Let us take care of Worker's Compensation, Unemployment and Payroll costs. If the candidate works out well, your options are temp-to-hire or a buyout fee.
Advantages of MACK Medical
Recruiting
Professional Office Staff
Our staff represents the highest standards of quality within the health care industry. Combined experiences in nursing, medical office support and personnel management ensure a comprehensive approach to specialized placement.
Recruitment
We rely upon a Medical Recruiter for all our professional recruitment. This is a service to our clients in order to ensure adherence to the highest quality of care at each skill level: registered, licensed and certified.
Multiple Office Locations
Due to our association with MACK Employment Services, Inc., we have access to multiple office locations for interviewing, orienting and paycheck distribution. Our other offices are located in Sinking Spring, Allentown, Harrisburg, Lancaster, Ephrata and Pottstown.
Employee Benefits
MACK Medical Staffing Services retains satisfied temporary employees by offering the following benefits: attendance bonuses; referral bonuses (bonus bucks program with uniform giveaways); shift and weekend pay differentials; employee recognition programs; medical, eye and dental insurance; vacation pay; and contributory 401K program.
Non-restriction of Employees
We do not restrict our employees from working through other agencies at the client facilities we service. We find the restriction of employees to be unethical and feel it produces a hardship to both the employee and the client. It is also not endorsed by our trade association, the American Staffing Association (ASA).
An employee needs to be able to obtain work to support themselves and their family. The client needs to staff their facility without such limitations to meet state and federal staffing requirements.
Retention
In-Service Training
We have an in-service program for our employees. We run the in-services at least once per month. We change topics once per quarter to allow our employees three sessions to choose from for their in-service.
The topics thus far include: Residents' Rights, Resident Abuse, Patient Confidentiality, Preventing Falls, Body Mechanics, Safety Awareness, Infection Control, TB Awareness/AIDS/Hepatitis B, MSDS Sheets, Workplace Violence, Fire Safety, Emergency Preparedness, Professionalism on the Job, Diseases, HIPAA, Working with Difficult People, and Nutrition/Hydration.
More topics will be added to our list of in-services in the near future. We keep the record of the in-services attended in each employee file.
Communications
We keep the lines of communication open with our employees, making them feel they are part of the MACK Medical team. Many employees come in to the office to pick up their paychecks and to deliver time slips. We also have a monthly employee newsletter, which typically includes the Employee of the Month, In-service listings, reminders, and Bonus Buck winners.
Flexible Schedules
We offer our temporary employees flexible schedules with no weekend or holiday requirements. They chose the days and shifts they are available and we match that availability with our clients' needs.
Employee Benefits
MACK Medical Staffing Services retains satisfied temporary employees by offering the following benefits: attendance bonuses; referral bonuses (bonus bucks program with uniform giveaways); shift and weekend pay differentials; employee recognition programs; medical, eye and dental insurance; vacation pay; and contributory 401K program.
Screening
Risk Management
MACK Medical Staffing Services has partnered with Risk Control Services, Inc., a nationally recognized Risk Management Consulting Company, to provide experienced, professional consultation regarding risk management practices in the medical industry. They monitor and assist in the evaluation, implementation and maintenance of loss control/risk management controls and practices and evaluate management's effectiveness in the implementation and maintenance of these policies. This partnership will help improve the risk control effectiveness with our client facilities.
Screening and Hiring
Each candidate must demonstrate qualifications at each level of a thorough screening process. From the initial contact, inquiry is made into education, experience and training. Caregivers credentials must be current and in good standing in order to participate in the hiring process.
Testing
A pre-employment written examination begins the interview process. Each candidate is presented with a test appropriate for each skill level. Achievement of 85% or better ensures continuation of the interview to the next step, which is application.
References
Three professional references, each at a satisfactory level or better, must be obtained by our recruiter. Requests for this information is standardized and obtainable from representatives in academic settings, former employers and peer groups.
Criminal Background Checks
We comply with applicable laws and regulations in conducting criminal background checks. Each candidate undergoes a criminal background check at the commonwealth level if they are residents of Pennsylvania. We are online with the PATCH system, which allows us to receive criminal background information from the state of Pennsylvania in a timely fashion. Anyone with Pennsylvania residency for less than two years undergoes the Federal Bureau of Investigation check.
License Confirmation
We require that all our candidates present current proof of licensure and certification appropriate to their skill level. Our staff will research and confirm credentials that will be retained within our employee files.
Orientation
MACK Medical Staffing Services is proud of our thorough orientation. We are fully aware of compliance issues within health care settings and provide training and evaluation at the state and federal level including ANA and OSHA regulations. In addition, we assist our clients in orienting caregivers to your facility.
Drug Screening
We have an active drug and alcohol screening policy for all registered employees. All applicants are asked to sign a consent form, requiring a drug test, at any time, at the request of the customer of MACK Medical Staffing Services. We also conduct initial drug screening in-house for all employees at the time of orientation. This is all at no additional cost to you.
Employee Health Policies
MACK Medical Staffing Services require all our healthcare employees to demonstrate compliance with state and federal regulations for working in direct contact with patients, employees and any visitor to healthcare settings. We require pre-evidence of immunity to measles, rubella (German Measles) and mumps. We also require proof of Hepatitis immunization status.
Customer Service
Sub-contracting
We have the capability and knowledge to provide staff to your facility by sub-contracting with other agencies to add value to your staffing requirements. MACK Medical Staffing Services would be the general contractor and your point of contact for your staffing needs, billing, correspondences and necessary documents.
MACK Medical Staffing Services would be responsible for making the necessary arrangements with other agencies, to provide you the highest quality and amount of staff possible. Sub-contracting would give the advantage of maintaining previous staffing vendors and/or supplemental nursing staff currently used in-house.
Dedicated Staffing Coordinator
We will provide a MACK Medical staff person dedicated to your facility. Depending on volume, the dedicated staffing coordinator could be on-site at your facility and/or at MACK Medical on part-time or full-time basis. The dedicated staffing coordinator would be available to assist with administrating time slips, attendance, payroll and immediate and future staffing needs. The dedicated staffing coordinator would be at no additional charge to your facility. Again, depending on volume, if the staffing coordinator is on-site, we would request a phone and office space.
ID Badges
MACK Medical Staffing Services provide all of our employees with an ID badge, which includes MACK Medical's logo and the employees picture, name, title and signature. This is to ensure proper identification that the person is who they say they are, and they are indeed our employees and that they are of the classification listed.
Account Business Review
We conduct quarterly account business reviews with our client facilities. The review is to monitor MACK Medical on our level of service. Certain topics for discussion will be employee turnover and quality, customer service of office staff and filling your facilities staffing needs.
Evaluations
We evaluate our caregivers on reliability, attendance, skill proficiency, professional conduct and cooperation as a supplemental staff member. Evaluations are conducted on a regular basis. A copy is retained within our employee files.
Occurrence Reports
Incidents will be treated with the highest priority and full attention from the Medical Manager. We require a verbal notification from you as the client. A written report will be produced from our investigation and provided to the employee file. We adhere to our own policies for verbal, written and final termination policies.
Insurance
Our healthcare workers are employees of MACK Medical Staffing Services. Therefore, it is our responsibility to provide insurance coverage benefits. MACK Medical employees are insured for worker's compensation, liability, malpractice and errors and omissions insurance. A Certificate of Insurance under each category will be provided for your records.
Communications
We not only keep the lines of communication open with our employees, but also with our clients. We talk to our clients frequently on the phone and visit at least quarterly.
